If you are at all interested in this genre you need to pick up Patrick O'Brien's Aubrey/Maturin series, Starting with Master and Commander. It's starts slow but once you get into the battles you will really enjoy them. The books aren't too long but there are around 19 of them so this might be a good one to check out from the Library.

But don't take my word on it.....

There is a very fine line between historical fiction and romance novels.

That is all.

On that note I will tell you to NEVER EVER EVER read any of Robert Jordan's historical fiction stuff, I don't remember what pen name he was using but STAY AWAY FROM IT!!!!

The book it was loosely based on Far Side of the World was one of the most boring if that gives you any idea of the quality of the rest of the series.

BTW Jordan's porn^W hisotrical fiction pen name (as opposed to his fantasy pen name) is Reagan O'Neal.

Not that it matters anymore, the covers are, well, covered with ROBERT JORDAN now.
