If you see it, leave after the Bamboo Forest.
What a disappointment.

I have to agree. The last battle in the movie is closer to "Kill Bill" then anything else. I was severly pissed how it ended.
Speaking of ending. Why is it movies like "Crouching Tiger", "Hero" and "Flying dagger" can't have a happy ending. IS THAT SO FUCKING HARD. So depressing.

Wire Fu BS

Wire-fu is getting old, as is animating certain action sequences...takes all the skill out of it. Give me an old-fashioned kung fu flick where the action all takes place in one frame and no one can fly or block arrows with their dongs, and I'm happy.
Examples: Drunken Master, Mystery of Chess Boxing, 3 Evil Masters, I can talk about the old school films for frickin DAYS. Any other kung fu collectors out there?

Used to love watching old school kung-fu flicks as a kid. Loved the Drunken Master movies, although I don't recall seeing any of the other ones you've listed.

I've become a bit of a fanatic. Starting in undergrad, friends and I started a sort of cult where we'd drink 40s of malt lichor and watch kung fu. I've carried it over into adulthood-enlisted members while in vet school (although Desiree (Idaree) never attended, I wonder why?) and am still looking for people to watch em now. I probably have about 30 DVDs, several of which I havent watched yet because it gets sad and lonely drinking a 40 and watching them by yourself while making Mystery Science Theater comments.
