I saw that a week or two ago. Funny stuff. It is amazing who you are related to when you do your ancestry. My cousin traced our family tree (Our grandfather's name) back to the early 1800's. She ran into a roadblock. She found some of our relatives from Niagara Falls, NY (who my father and grandfather used to visit when my father was a child). They had a 150 page family album/tree book that dates the family line back into the late 1600's. Quite a historical piece. She took all this information and built a database out of it with stories, geographical references, pictures, etc. I think she said it's about 4 gigs of info now, and she said there is much more work to do, but she has stopped working on it. It's really reading about family war heroes, or on the reverse spectrum, maniacal serial killers.

She brought quite a few things to my attention that I saw on that website as well. Coat of Arms are not a familial thing; They were an honor. It's just that they were always passed down to the firstborn son. I think we actually had 2 or 3 in the direct family line. The funny thing is that one looks like a version of a Lannister banner from GoT. Red and White checkers with a golden lion.

I tried once when I was younger on my grandmother's side (Browning) but was stopped at my grandmother's great-grandfather (Brown Bear - Cherokee). His children took the name Brownin which was later changed to Browning (The more common spelling).

All i know about heritage is that im half german and half french. So i end up giving up to myself alot.
