*casts Resurrect Old Thread*

I'm definitely not a frequenter of this board, but I am a pleasure reader, making me the ultimate paradox. My recent books have included all of the Ender saga, most of the Homecoming saga (still need to read book 5), most of the Bean saga (I know, I'm sort of an Orson fan), but not since I read Lord of the Rings in high school have I been so captivated in reading a book. I just started reading Eye of the World, and it's distracted me from my usual activities like eating and sleeping. I've lost five pounds and I've been getting to sleep around 4:00 am. I'd say that makes this the best book I've read in a while. If the rest of the series (Jesus, 14 books?!) is any similar, I'll be in pretty bad shape. My only regret is I didn't discover this series earlier.

Wow nice, all three books to read at work now. Thanks. Least these are the "good" ones.

And the rest. If you download these, I *HIGHLY* recommend you buy the books as well, seeing as books are infinitely more convenient than a computer to carry around and read.

The series gets better until it peaks at book 4. After that, it plummets until it scrapes the bottom of the barrel in book 10. Book 11 was OK and 12 is supposed to end the series if Jordan doesn't die first.

If you are late to this scene (by over a decade), then you probably missed George R.R. Martin's A Song of Fire and Ice series. If you enjoy reading fantasy/sci-fi at all then you are doing yourself a disservice every day that passes until you pick up A Game of Thrones, the first book of the series.

I think every person, except LilTyger, who has read both Wheel of Time and ASOFAI agree that the latter is superior. That's should tell you everything you need to know.

Book 4 is the peak. 5, 6, and 7 are still really good. I have no idea what 8 was about. 9 was okay. 10 was trash. 11 was pretty good.

You forgot to mention that book 12 is supposed to end the series but Jordan is too busy dying to finish it.

His bones disintegrated...give him a break. Heres your ending:

Mat: What are women thinking?
Rand: I dont know
Perrin: Matt Damon!
*Nynaeve tugs her braid
*Lan scoffs

The Dark One gets balefired by a super ring of aes sedai, rand, ashamen, lews therin (after he splits off from rand and emerges birgette style).

Rand will probably die and the women (read: all the jordan characters) will cry and cry.

I found 1-3 or 4 to be good. 5 to 8 I thought were... interesting but not good enough to make me want to read. They were slow slow going. I think I got to the start of 9 and just gave up, zero interest. I want to know what happens, how things are going, and get resolved, but it's just too tedious to be enjoyable.

Thanks for spoiling it, asshole. I was hoping to endure 7 chapters of an Elayne bath scene before I got to that part.

I hope Faile gets it in the ass.... from a Trolloc.
