I stopped reading the series after book 5.
I think that was the one. yeah, cause book 4 was what, Fires of Heavens?

anyway.
got tired of the series, but my personal opinion isnt hte point.

apparently, a friend I got hooked on the series, (may god forgive me for that crime) took all her books to a Signing and a speech by the author in downtown Charleston.

Apparently, she related the story of her getting involved int he series, and my personal falling out. So, after hearing this tale, I was denounced by the Author on the spot, and then rementioned and cursed in his address later that afternoon.

Depending on what you like, you probably will.

First 3 books are good and entertaining, esp the first two.

After that... the books are interesting, but not exciting... at least, that's how it is up to 8 or 9 where I am now... I'll finish it, eventually, maybe... I keep trying to pickup the latest book I have and I get 50 pages into it, forget about it, start reading something else, and go back and can't remember any of it.

The first four books are great. After that it slows down for a few books. But the last couple have been much better.

BTW, try to get Maz to give you a nickel every time you read about some woman smoothing her skirt. You'll be freaking rich by Book 6.

Oh yes, the same damned words are used as curses and descriptions and insults, time, and time, and time, and time and time again.

I honestly didn't believe the description I read of Knife of Dreams as being the "penultimate book" (penultimate="2nd-to-last") in the series until after I finished reading it. Now it finally looks like the next book really will be the last one, but it really felt like Jordan didn't make up his mind about it until he started writing Knife of Dreams.

KoD was real good. I would like to see a gigantic final book and have him just end it.
