I would have much preferred to have all the characters and half the story instead of his anti-american solution.

I pay rent and taxes.

And I resent the college student crack. I've always harbored mistrust for our political system... it bothered me how they shoved "patriotism" down our throats as a child.

As Winston Churchill said, Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the others. As far as our political _system_ goes, it's not too bad. It's the ingredients in the recipe that make the apple pie bad.

Haha I "paid rent and taxes" in college too. Rent was about half of what I see now and I pretty much got every cent back on my taxes minus FICA/SS.

Anyway, as long as this book was split because it had too much content, I think it will be fine. That would mean that books 4 and 5 would average together to be as good as any of the first three. You always had bad character arcs spliced in with the ones you really cared about. It just so happens that you will get more of them in Book 4 and less in Book 5.

Wheel of Time books 9 and 10 which also split up same time period by character. The problem was that Jordan stretched out the pages with filler bullshit. There were also a lot more unlikeable characters, pretty much any lacking a Y chromosome or named Perrin, and you got a front-row seat into their boring-ass lives.

Oh yeah. I went there.

Don't forget the bath.

And quit un-jacking the thread.
