Any suggestions on how I should squander my new company funded bandwidth? I've already got remote control and FTP setup so I can play on it from work.

4Meg download here. Insight still sucks though. Called tech support here one night when I knew the connection was down for an update. The guy in tech support was convinced my modem, a newer ARIS 2500 model was outdated. Hes exact words were "Your modem is out of sync with our network protocol." DUMBASS. Only Comports can be "out of sync" because they are not DOCSIS complient.

Then i asked how long he had been doing tech support. He tells me 2 weeks, and he had just graduated from High School  . These are the type of dumbass that I had to deal with at Charter.

Sure enough the next morning everything was fine and the tech guy that sent the truck out to my house for no reason surly got a notch against him (sending out a truck w/ little to no proof pisses alot of people off and they know which techs do it from an electronic sig).

I think the installer put the line to the modem after my amplifier, my signal is way too strong. Then he went and put a little metal tag on the box. Does Charter have any policy about messing with the equipment, because I'm gonna snip that tag off and poke around if not.

Just like phelps said, if you do mess w/ your box just plead ignorance they can't prove anything. Hell cancel your cable tv and keep cable internet and let them put a filter on your feed. Then when they leave take if off, poof free cable. A person used to have to have a cable tv subscriped to get cable internet before they made the filter.

Course if you get caught stealing cable they back bill you, black ball you from getting service from the company and take you to court.

You get basic cable with just cable internet from Charter. That is why it says Charter Highspeed Pipeline**. ** - Video component required. IE..if you don't have cable already, they charge you $10 a month for basic cable.

Insight(my local carrier) no longer has the cable tv restriction. This is how I went 2 years w/ cable internet and no cable tv. I just recently got my fiancee cable tv for christmas so she can watch lifetime aka The Nanny and The Golden Girls.
