Knife of Dreams - No Spoilers Please

Post by Liltyger »

784 pages from cover to cover, this is not one of the half books we've been getting, it's massive. Just finished it after getting it Thursday and I really enjoyed it. Great plot movement and more than anything else, a sense of things being resolved. Anyway some else can start a thread with spoilers for discussion, but I need a break... 784 pages sheesh!

Guess I'll have to hurry up and reread through Crossroads of Twilight. Man, that one is boring.

No matter where you are, skip to the last 3 pages. Seriously.

Oh, I know all about the Seanchan and Rand already. I could just stop reading it altogether, considering it can be summed up by this:

Mat: "oh blood and ashes, she's bald, tiny and not very much my style :((" *vanishes for another half a year*
(meanwhile)
Perrin: "Woe is me, for my soul is black with anger, despair and sorrow!"
Berelain: "STFU with the emo lyrics, Perrin, and sleep with me"
Aes Sedai: "Ooohhaaaaaaaaaaa! SAIDAR!"
(meanwhile)
Faile: "I must escape, before they realize I'm submissive!"
Wise Ones: "Ooohhaaaaaaaaaaa! SAIDAR!"
(meanwhile)
Elayne: "durka durka durka rand aviendah"
Windfinders: "Ooohhaaaaaaaaaaa! SAIDAR!"
(meanwhile)
Egwene: "zerg rush kekekekekekekekke" *captured stupidly*
(meanwhile)
Mat: "i still exist zomg"
(meanwhile)
Seanchan: "LFG!"
Rand: "hay let's ally with my worst enemy"
Seanchan: "k cool"
TEH END

"Derka Derka Rand Aviendha Min" pretty much sums up Elayne in the last 3 books.
In vino veritas.

I read the prologue last night. Not sure how long it's going to take me to finish since I've got to fit it in between work, WoW, and other random RL stuff. I like it so far, but I don't reread previous books before starting in on new ones, so I'm suffering from not remembering half the people when they're first mentioned. It takes me a page or two before I start remembering stuff involving them from previous books.

I was the same way. Especially with the Aes Sedai and the Seanchan. I keep http://www.dragonmount.com/Char_Index/ at my side the whole time.

If you find yourself wondering where the last pages end when you reach the end of your edition of KoD, know this: RJ screwed you over. He practically ends the book in the middle of a sentence.
