Re: A Tale of the Malazan Book of the Fallen
I have, and I enjoyed it but didn't love it. I liked ICE's second book Return of the Crimson Guard a lot more. Yes I've become a Malazan freak.

Re: A Tale of the Malazan Book of the Fallen
Yeah that was quite the finale. I've read 9 as well, and I'd probably place it among the top 3, behind Gardens (I know I'm one of the few who loved the first book) and Memories of Ice (my favorite fantasy novel, ever). Worth ordering from UK imo. Edit: Not going to spoil, but Dust of Dreams has the ...

*** WARNING: SPOILER SPECULATION HERE *** I suspect he hatched a plan to sacrifice himself to allow Snape to gain Voldemort's full trust. When he confided his plan with Snape, that's when they got into their huge argument. And since Snape knew he'd be a marked man as soon as he killed Dumbledore, I...

I've become a bit of a fanatic. Starting in undergrad, friends and I started a sort of cult where we'd drink 40s of malt lichor and watch kung fu. I've carried it over into adulthood-enlisted members while in vet school (although Desiree (Idaree) never attended, I wonder why?) and am still looking f...

Wire Fu BS
Wire-fu is getting old, as is animating certain action sequences...takes all the skill out of it. Give me an old-fashioned kung fu flick where the action all takes place in one frame and no one can fly or block arrows with their dongs, and I'm happy. Examples: Drunken Master, Mystery of Chess Boxing...

Gene Wolfe
Try Gene Wolfe's Book of the New Sun series: Shadow and Claw, Sword and Citadel are the 2 books. He has an incredible, unique writing style and an amazing imagination. Also by him are The Wizard and The Knight-very good as well. Can be difficult to find the first 2, may need to order from Amazon, bu...
